    MAHA BHARATHAM – PART 13

Bhima, Hanuman and the Journey Through the Forest

The Pandavas continued their long forest exile.

Every day brought a new challenge.

Yudhishthira remained focused on dharma, while Bhima was always ready to protect his family. Arjuna was away acquiring divine weapons, and Draupadi continued to endure the hardships of forest life.

During this period, Bhima’s journey would lead him to an extraordinary meeting.

He would meet someone who was not only incredibly powerful, but also connected to him through their father.

    That person was Hanuman.

    1. Draupadi Sees a Beautiful Flower

One day, while the Pandavas were staying in the forest, a beautiful flower was carried toward Draupadi by the wind.

The flower was called the Saugandhika flower.

Draupadi was fascinated by its beauty and fragrance.

She wished to have more of these flowers.

Bhima wanted to make her happy.

He decided to travel into the forest and find the place where the flowers grew.

    2. Bhima Travels Into the Forest

    Bhima entered the forest alone.

He moved through the wilderness with confidence.

Wild animals and dangerous creatures were not enough to frighten him.

As he travelled deeper into the forest, he encountered many obstacles.

    But Bhima continued forward.

    His goal was simple:

Find the Saugandhika flowers for Draupadi.

    3. Bhima Meets an Old Monkey

While travelling, Bhima suddenly saw an old monkey lying across his path.

The monkey appeared weak and tired.

Bhima asked him to move aside so that he could continue his journey.

The monkey replied that he was too weak to move.

He asked Bhima to move his tail himself.

    Bhima smiled.

He thought that moving the tail of an old monkey would be an easy task.

But he was about to learn an important lesson.

    4. Bhima Tries to Move the Tail

Bhima tried to move the monkey’s tail.

    It did not move.

He tried again with greater strength.

Still, the tail remained exactly where it was.

    Bhima became surprised.

    He used all his strength.

But he could not lift the tail.

Bhima finally understood that the monkey was no ordinary creature.

    5. Bhima Realizes the Truth

    Bhima’s pride disappeared.

He respectfully asked the monkey who he really was.

The monkey revealed his true identity.

He was Hanuman, the great devotee of Lord Rama.

    Bhima was astonished.

Hanuman and Bhima had something important in common.

Both were believed to be sons of Vayu, the wind god.

Therefore, Hanuman was Bhima’s spiritual elder brother.

    6. Hanuman Teaches Bhima Humility

Hanuman explained that strength should never create pride.

Bhima was one of the strongest warriors in the world.

But even his enormous strength had limits.

The encounter taught Bhima an important lesson:

True strength is accompanied by humility.

Hanuman blessed Bhima and encouraged him to continue his journey.

Bhima’s respect for Hanuman grew enormously.

    12. A Greater Challenge Is Coming

The Pandavas still had many years of exile remaining.

Their greatest challenge, however, was yet to come.
